Chefkit Returns & Refunds Policy

At Chefkit, we supply premium equipment to both commercial kitchens and home culinary enthusiasts. Because the laws governing business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) sales differ in the UK, please read the policy below that applies to your purchase.

To start a return or report an issue, please contact us at hello@chefkit.uk Do not return any items to us without prior authorization and the correct return address.

1. Damages and Issues (All Customers)

Due to the size and nature of catering equipment, you must inspect your order immediately upon delivery.

  • Any transit damage, missing parts, or incorrect items must be reported to us within 24 hours of receipt, accompanied by photographs.

  • Failure to report transit damage within this 24-hour window may invalidate your claim, as we cannot pursue transit insurance after this time.

2. Business-to-Business (B2B) Returns

If you are purchasing goods for a business, trade, or profession, the transaction is a B2B contract.

  • Change of Mind: B2B buyers do not have an automatic statutory right to return non-faulty goods. Returns for unwanted items are entirely at our discretion.

  • Restocking Fee: If an authorized B2B return is accepted, it will be subject to a 25% restocking fee to cover testing, warehousing, and administration.

  • Timeframe: Return requests must be made within 7 days of delivery.

  • Shipping: The buyer is strictly responsible for arranging and paying for the safe return carriage of the goods.

3. Consumer (B2C) Returns (The 14-Day Cooling-Off Period)

If you are purchasing goods strictly for personal, domestic use, you are protected by the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations.

  • You have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your goods for any reason.

  • You then have a further 14 days to return the goods to us.

  • Shipping: You are responsible for the cost of return shipping. For large catering equipment, please be aware that this can be a significant cost.

  • We will refund the basic delivery cost you paid to receive the item, but we do not cover upgraded or expedited delivery fees.

4. Condition of Returned Goods (All Customers)

To be eligible for a return (whether B2B or B2C), the item must be in a resalable condition. This means:

  • It must be completely unused and unworn.

  • It must NOT have been installed, hardwired, or connected to mains services (gas or water).

  • It must be in its original, undamaged packaging with all manuals and accessories.

  • We reserve the right to deduct money from your refund if the value of the goods has been reduced as a result of you handling them more than was necessary.

5. Non-Returnable Items

The following items cannot be returned unless faulty upon arrival:

  • Bespoke, custom-fabricated, or made-to-order products.

  • Equipment that has been unpacked, installed, or used.

  • Special order items sourced specifically for your requirements.

6. Refunds

We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take time for your bank or credit card company to process the funds.

7. Important Note on Warranties for Domestic Buyers

Please be aware that commercial catering equipment is designed and manufactured for commercial environments. If you purchase commercial equipment for use in a domestic/residential property, the manufacturer may void the parts and labour warranty. If you are a home user, please check with us before purchasing.
